MODEL WATERSHEDS

Model watershed management across 4 states in India have shown great success.

  • cropping intensity (how many harvests of crops in a year) averaged 175%
  • Average crop yields increased 39%
  • 43% increase in groundwater level
  • 93% success rate of various watershed interventions
  • 3 fold increase of area under high value crops
