On 9 September 2025, ICRISAT hosted a high-level delegation from Syngenta Technical Market Development (Global & India) at its headquarters in Hyderabad. The visit focused on fostering strategic collaborations in climate-smart agriculture (CSA), regenerative practices, and integrated soil–plant health innovations.

The delegation engaged with ICRISAT scientists from key programs, Resilient Farms and Food System (RFFS), Enabling System Transformation (EST), and Accelerated Crop Improvement (ACI), who showcased scalable models in CSA, crop improvement, natural resource management, and value chain development. A roundtable discussion with senior leadership, including Dr Stanford Blade, Deputy Director General – Research and Innovation, ICRISAT, explored joint initiatives in Asia and Africa related to soil health enhancement, capacity building, and technology transfer.

The delegation also toured ICRISAT’s Living Lab and analytical facilities, gaining insights into ongoing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission experiments and advanced diagnostics in soil and plant health. The visit concluded with a shared commitment to co-develop research, training programs, and data-driven interventions to accelerate sustainable agricultural transformation across regions.
