ICRISAT hosted the Principal Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, Mr Vikas Rastogi, IAS, at the Patancheru headquarters on 21 July 2025. Led by Dr Himanshu Pathak, Director General of ICRISAT, and the institute’s senior leadership, discussions focused on Maharashtra’s agricultural priorities. ICRISAT reaffirmed its commitment to delivering science-backed, climate-resilient solutions for dryland farmers.
During the visit, Mr Rastogi toured the Dryland Living Lab and the Rapid Generation Advancement (RGA) facility, where he gained insights into scalable innovations and accelerated crop breeding for improved varieties. He expressed strong interest in ICRISAT’s research and its potential to enhance productivity, sustainability, and farmer resilience across the state of Maharashtra.
